Children from all local schools are welcome to join us for holiday care.

Does Whoosh Care have a Christmas closure?

Yes, we close for the Christmas period. Closure dates will be updated in Term 4

Does Whoosh Care provide food?

My child has an allergy or medical condition, what do I need to provide?

Whoosh Care provides breakfast and afternoon tea with a fruit and vegetable platter each school day.

During holiday care we will provide breakfast and afternoon tea; you will need to pack lunch for your child(ren). Our menu will be on display for families, at our service and on OWNA. Please discuss your child’s allergies and dietary requirements with Mel.

If your child has an allergy or medical condition, you must provide an action plan signed by your child’s doctor along with any relevant medication. The medication must be in the original packaging and have a pharmacy label with your child’s name and instructions for giving the medication.

If your child has anaphylaxis, you must provide an EpiPen or Anapen to stay at Whoosh.

How do I access Whoosh?

Whoosh is in the school hall (building E). Please ensure you sign your child in to care each morning and out of care each afternoon using the Whoosh iPads. These will be sanitised regularly.

Access to the school is via the main gate on Commissioners Drive.

Each afternoon the children will meet our team under the school COLA.

How will I know my child is safe?

For morning care, you will need to walk your child to the school hall and sign them in on our iPads, ensuring that the team account for your child being present. Our iPads will be sanitised regularly.

For each afternoon your child is booked to attend Whoosh, our team will greet your child and sign them in. If they do not meet us under the COLA, we will look for your child at school; if we do not locate your child, we will call you to check if your child has been picked up or didn’t attend school.

We will ensure your child is accounted for. If your child does not attend on a booked session and you do not let us they will be absent, a non-notification fee will be applied.

How do I confirm my child’s absence from Whoosh?

You will need to inform Whoosh of your child’s absence, in addition to your communication with the school.

You can mark your child absent on the OWNA app, or by SMS directly to Mel and the team on 0499 080 341.

Who can pick up my child?

Our team will only permit ‘authorised persons’ to collect your child from Whoosh. You can add authorised persons to your account on OWNA, under ‘Forms’ or email info@whooshcare.com.au.

Our team must have authorisation in writing for someone other than a parent to collect a child. Each person collecting a child will use their own phone number and a PIN to sign the child out; please do not share your PIN with anyone else.

What activities do you offer at Whoosh?

Whoosh Care offers a play and leisure program of activities; we will collaborate with the children to ensure we are offering activities that reflect their interests. Activities may include cooking, gardening, sport, craft, art, construction, science experiments and games. Children will choose the activities they wish to participate in.

How does Whoosh share information about your program with families?

Our team will share the program, photos and information on the OWNA app.

The weekly program will also be on display in the school hall.
